Nothing About Us Without Us: Building cooperation and teamwork with Ayta Abellen women-leaders of Maporac, Zambales

Last January 24, 2018, WLB conducted a Planning-Meeting workshop with four women-leaders of Maporac, Zambales. The workshop highlighted Besides facilitating cooperation and working together as part of a team, the activity also covered discussions on how to effectively plan and facilitate a meeting.

These women-leaders are also the core community coordinators of WLB and Kababaihang Samahan ng Maporac (KASAMA). They have been working with WLB since last year in carrying out capacity building activities which highlighted women’s issues in the Ayta Abellen tribe and increased their appreciation of their rights – as women and as members of the Ayta Abellen tribe. This year, WLB and KASAMA is continuing work towards improving Ayta Abellen women’s access to justice and social services through a project supported by Voice-Philippines. Voice is an innovative grant facility that supports the most marginalised and discriminated people in ten low- and lower-middle income countries in Africa and Asia.
